KATHMANDU, March 13: The first, two-day long annual Tamang Studies Seminar held in the capital in coordination with Nepal Academy on the occasion of the first anniversary of Tamang Nyangkhor concluded on Tuesday.

In the seminar, 21 seminar papers were presented. A heated discussion was held on the subjects of Tamang folk songs and Tamang genealogy. The papers presented at the seminar included some from Kolkata, Darjeeling and Sikkim. Most of the papers were centered on language, literature, education, communication, eating habits, technology and so on.
At the program, various individuals were awarded with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for their contribution to the promotion of the Tamang language and literature.
