KATHMANDU, Feb 8: Nepal’s Vice-Captain Dipendra Singh Airee delivered two pivotal blows to keep his side firmly in the contest.
Dipendra first made headlines by bowling out England all-rounder Sam Curran, handing Nepal a major breakthrough against the defending champions. He then followed it up in style by removing the dangerous Jacob Bethell, who had already raced to an aggressive half-century.

Bethell was dismissed for 55 runs, caught by Lokesh Bam, as Dipendra claimed Nepal’s fourth wicket of the innings. The left-hander had earlier shared a 71-run partnership for the fourth wicket with England captain Harry Brook, threatening to tilt the game England’s way.
Bethell’s knock came off 35 balls and included four boundaries and four sixes, before Dipendra’s timely intervention stalled England’s momentum once again.
With two key wickets, Dipendra has emerged as Nepal’s standout performer, underlining his value as a big-match player on the global stage.
