At present, the school is conducting classes from a makeshift arrangement made by the Chandan Nath battalion with help of parents of students.
A temporary shelter with eight classrooms is being constructed and classes are running in the under-construction classrooms."There is no furniture in the classrooms and this has caused great difficulty to students. It would have been better had desks and benches been arranged for students," said Tek Raj Acharya, the school principal. Majority of students are from the backward Dalit community and English is the language of instruction. Since the school participated in SLC exams from 2006 AD none of the students have failed in the SLC examinations.
"We have made makeshift arrangement so classes wouldn't be hampered. We are hopeful that students will soon with able to catch up with what they missed for a month after the earthquake," said Prem Narayan Bhusal, coordinator of the school reconstruction committee, who is also the former principal of the school.
Diksha Chudali, a ninth grader of the school, said although the school has begun temporary classes, students are facing great difficulties. The quake has caused damage to 90 schools in the district. As many as 110 temporary buildings need to be constructed, according to District Education Officer Dhan Singh Dhami.
