KATHMANDU, Dec 25: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has unanimously recommended Bharatpur Metropolitan City Mayor Renu Dahal as its candidate for the House of Representatives (HoR) from Chitwan Constituency No. 3 in the upcoming parliamentary election.
A meeting of the party’s constituency committee on Thursday decided to field Dahal, who is also the daughter of Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, as the First Past the Post (FPTP) candidate, targeting the HoR election scheduled for March 5.

Reacting to the decision, Dahal said she respects the party’s choice and is ready to contest the election in line with the trust placed in her by the people.
If formally nominated, Dahal will quit his position as mayor of Bharatpur to enter parliamentary politics.
