State coffer is public property: PM

JUMLA, Sept 16: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said the government was working to extend the outreach of the state services to the people´s doorsteps.



During his one-night stay at Ranka Village inTatopani-2 in Jumla district on Saturday, Prime Minister Bhattarai interacted with the locals and listened their problems. He had stayed at the home of a local, Mansingh Nepali.[break]



The state coffer is a public property, said the Prime Minister and pledged its equal distribution to all.



Underlining the need of political co-work and consensus to bring in changes as per the people´s aspirations and to institutionalize equality and social justice, he urged the local political parties to unite and work together.



He also informed that the government was actively working to form the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.



Similarly, the Prime Minister visited the farms of local crops and apple orchard for around 30 minutes. On the occasion, the Prime Minister and government Chief Secretary Lilamani Poudel acquired information about the activities launched by the Poverty Alleviation Fund and its outcome from the chiefs of partner organizations. The Jumla folks have termed the Prime Minister´s visit as a historic one.
