KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Hearing of a corruption case against former prime minister and joint-coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party Madhav Kumar Nepal is scheduled for hearing on Monday at the Special Court.
The case will be heard by a bench comprising Justices Narayan Prasad Paudel and Dilli Ratna Shrestha, where it has been listed as the third case on the day’s roster.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), had filed corruption charges against Nepal and 93 others in connection with the Patanjali Yogpeeth and Ayurveda Company Nepal land misappropriation case on 5 June 5.
Investigators allege that the cabinet led by Nepal unlawfully approved both the purchase and subsequent sale of land in Sanga, Kavre, which fell under the landholding ceiling exemption.
According to the charge sheet, a cabinet meeting held on February 22, 2010 granted Patanjali approval to purchase 815 ropanis of land under the ceiling exemption. Later, the cabinet also allowed the company to sell the same land on March 19, 2010.
The Indian company, which registered itself in Nepal to open Ayurvedic hospital and grow medicinal plants in the land they bought, sold for private usages. Following which the CIAA initiated an investigation on suspicion of corruption. The anti-graft body has claimed Rs 185.85 million in damages against Nepal.
The Special Court earlier on June 25 ordered Nepal’s release on Rs 3.5 million bail after a preliminary hearing.
