The package starting from 1,750 Indian rupees will remain in effect till September 2013. The association has promoted these packaged under recently launched ´Chaliye Pokhara´ campaign.
Biplab Paudel, president of PHAP said entrepreneurs were visiting northen cities of India to promote the campaign.
A honeymoon package is available starting 2,555 Indian rupees and includes accommodation in tourist class hotel and the package costing 16,666 Indian rupees offers two nights and three days stay at tourist class hotel. The package includes accommodation, airport transfer and a welcome drink.
Similarly, the cost of Monsoon package ranges from 1,111 to 13,222 Indian rupees depending upon the choice of hotel.
“We are hopeful the special discounts and attractive package will help increase the number of Indian tourists by around 20 percent,” said Paudel.
At present more than 50,000 Indian tourists visit Pokhara excluding pilgrims to the Muktinath Temple. The entrepreneurs have offered 30 percent discount on accommodation and 10 percent on food for those who don´t want to purchase the package.
As part of the campaign, tourism entrepreneurs are visiting Indian tourism entrepreneurs in bordering cities including Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Kanpur starting from this Thursday.
