Swindlers arrested for scamming with fake gold

Nepal Police arrested four people in Kathmandu for allegedly cheating victims of Rs 500,000 by selling fake gold. Investigation is ongoing.

KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Nepal Police has arrested a gang accused of defrauding people of Rs 500,000 by passing off fake gold as genuine.

The accused were caught in Kageshwari Manohara Municipality–5, Kathmandu, after attempting to swindle money using a substance resembling precious yellow metal. Those arrested include Sukuman Singh Blon, 45,  of Indrasarovar Rural Municipality, Makwanpur; Rajendra Tamang, 48, of Makwanpur; Bir Bahadur Tamang, 53, of  Baikaya Rural Municipality, Makwanpur; and Jit Bahadur Tamang, 42, from Devchuli, Nawalparasi.


All four have been remanded by the district court, and the police are continuing their investigation under charges of fraud.
