Singha Durbar Fire: Three-member panel formed to assess damage

A three-member investigation committee has been formed to assess the damage caused by the fire at the Ministry of Water Supply in Singha Durbar on Saturday.

KATHMANDU, Feb 8: A three-member investigation committee has been formed to assess the damage caused by the fire at the Ministry of Water Supply in Singha Durbar on Saturday.  


The committee, chaired by the head of the Federal Secretariat Construction and Management Office, Senior Divisional Engineer Ganesh Karmacharya, includes Engineer Ganesh Pandey from the Federal Secretariat Construction and Management Office and an undersecretary from the Ministry of Water Supply as members.

After the fire, a team led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Urban Development Prakash Man Singh visited the site for an inspection. The ministry immediately instructed the committee to assess the damage and submit a report within a week, including recommendations to prevent such incidents in the Singha Durbar complex and prepare for future occurrences.  


Additionally, the Ministry of Urban Development has stated that repair and reconstruction work due to the fire has already begun.
