Shahi advises Rimal to prepare for ward chairmanship
KATHMANDU, March 11: A heated exchange is unfolding on social media as Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Spokesperson Gyanendra Shahi and CPN-UML Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Rimal tosses reproachful remarks against each other.
After Rimal countered Shahi's statement, Shahi suggested that Rimal prepare for the position of ward chairperson. He advised Rimal to focus on the role while endorsing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli as a directly elected executive leader.

Shahi wrote, "If you have the strength and courage, prepare Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for direct election by the people as the executive Prime Minister. And you, Prime Minister's chief advisor Bishnu Rimal, prepare for the position of ward chairperson."
He also questioned, "Did the people directly elect Prime Minister Oli? Did the President get elected directly by the people?" He continued, "The Prime Minister's chief advisor should stop pretending to be the fox of democracy. Furthermore, you talk about democracy-did the people directly elect Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli? Did the President get elected directly by the people? Democracy has become an instrument for people like you to exploit it for personal gain. It has turned into a looting system."
Earlier, Shahi had written on social media, "Yesterday, while welcoming the former king, Prime Minister KP Oli's main political advisor Bishnu Rimal posted a photo of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath under the direction of Prime Minister Oli himself."
In response, Rimal wrote on social media, stating that the confusion spread by incompetent individuals, who suddenly found themselves in a dignified position with the help of disinformation, was nothing new. He wrote, "The history of editing the same status five times clearly shows how these people have been spreading confusion through duality. I have no interest in questioning such worthless people. The news has already revealed who is doing what!"
Following that, Rimal took to social media today, specifically Facebook, to refute what he called a false piece of information. In doing so, he criticized an "incompetent, anarchic, rude, anti-national element" who had suddenly gained a dignified position while spreading disinformation. He also targeted Shahi with a pointed remark, writing, "Many of us might feel that this person is not someone elected by the people through the democratic system we built, and such a comment does not befit an elected representative."
