The fire damaged the roof and electrical network in the minister's office. As soon as the fire was reported, Deputy Prime Minister Singh led an on-site inspection at the ministry. The security agencies provided details of the damage, and since the ministry manages the Singha Durbar complex, the Deputy Prime Minister instructed immediate repairs to restore the Water Supply ministry to its previous state and ensure the continuity of services.

The Ministry's Federal Secretariat Construction and Management Office has begun repair work today, according to a press release. The release also states that the ministry has formed a committee to submit a report on the damage within a week. The report will assess the damage and provide recommendations to prevent such incidents from recurring in the Singha Durbar complex, along with measures for preparedness.
