KATHMANDU, Feb 8: Authorities have brought the fire at the Ministry of Water Supply in Singha Durbar under control. 


A massive fire broke out at the Ministry of Water Supply in Singha Durbar on Saturday, starting on the third floor, which housed the office of the Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation.

Police stated that flames suddenly engulfed the minister’s office, but firefighters managed to extinguish the fire. The fire burned some documents in the ministry, according to officials.


While authorities suspect an electrical short circuit may have caused the fire, they have yet to confirm the exact reason. Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause.
