Shiva Sena leadership pledged that they would not repeat such a mistake in future in the presence of Kathmandu Chief District Officer (CDO) Chudamani Sharma.
Top leaders of organization visited the offices of Nepal Republic Media at JDA Complex in Baghdurbar on Wednesday to extend their apology for the attack.
"Nagarik daily is a patriotic newspaper," said Founder Chairman of the SSN Arun Subedi, adding, "We don´t have any dissatisfaction with it.
The SSN chairman said that he had extended an apology to Kishor Nepal for the assault after he returned to Nepal from abroad.
The SSN has condemned the attack on Nepal Republic Media stating that the party does not have any policy to attack media houses.
CDO Sharma stressed that the SSN should not make such mistake in future. "I hope leaders and cadres of SSN will not attack journalists from Nagarik daily or any other media in future," Sharma added.
Stating that no one can curb the universal values of freedom of speech and expression, Nepal, who is also the editor-in-chief of Shukrabar weekly, said that one should hold discussions in case of disagreements. "If a matter can´t be resolved that way, there are legal ways as well," he maintained.
Similarly, Managing Director of Nepal Republic Media Binod Raj Gyawali stated that one can protest in a legal way under the rule of law. He said that Nepal Republic Media is always open for discussions.
Leaders and cadres of SSN had attacked on Nepal Republic Media on December 20.
