KATHMANDU, May 12: Like many others, the April 25 earthquake and May 12 aftershock have impacted the daily works at the Public Service Commission (PSC), a constitutional body involved in selecting candidates required for various vacant posts of the civil service.
Examinations for announced posts have been postponed, while exam results are likely to be delayed.

PSC Chairman Umesh Mainali said they are running late by one and a half month as per the calendar.
“The works at the commission were hampered for 1.5 months due to the quake,” he told Myrepublica, “We are working round the clock to meet the deadline.”
The PSC had planned to hold examinations for 617 posts of Nayab Subba (Non-gazetted officer), 633 posts in heath sector and for promotions of 633 civil servants on May 5. All the exams were put off owing to the devastating temblor.
As the situation has normalized, the commission is holding all the postponed exams from June 12 and has already published timetable for that.
Chairman Mainali said they are working on war footing to publish results of already-held exams.
“The yearly calendar won’t be impacted if we manage to complete all the stalled works till the end of this fiscal year,” Mainali said, “We are working hard to meet the deadline.”
