The water level in the river has increased from Wednesday evening after heavy rainfall in the hilly districts of the eastern region.[break]
Earlier, at 8 pm on Wednesday, the water flow in the river was recorded 218,505 cusecs per second.
However, the water level has decreased from 6 am this morning, said police head constable of Keshav Dhakal. The water flow was recorded 223,835 at 6 am this morning.
Thirty of the 56 floodgates in the barrage have been opened after heavy rise in the water flow in the river.
