The deal will be valid for five years and CMG will provide Rs 1 million in cash and sports kits worth Rs 500,000 per annum. The amount will increase by 10 percent after every two years. [break]
Narendra Sah, the managing director of CMG Club, which runs entertaining game for foreign tourists through electronic means by coin and token, and Sankata President Indraman Tuladhar signed the deal.
According to Sah, CMG choose Sankata due to football craze and neighborly relations. Tuladhar of Sankata opined that the sponsorship will be helpful for the club in management of expenses.
"We failed to sign new players for the current season as we were busy playing B division league last season. Thus we have targeted top eight position in the league for this year and title in the next season," Tuladhar said adding, "Now Sankata will not only play for the sake of playing but for the title."
According to Tuladhar, Kathmandu Mall had given continuity to sponsorship worth Rs 800,000 and the total amount from sponsorship was about 2.5 million. "We are planning to raise additional Rs 2.5 million from Sankata Fan Club and the total of Rs 5 million will help reduce financial burden of the club." The membership of fan club is Rs 25,000. and Sankata already have 71 members in its fan club and is aiming to extend it to 100.
The club has signed four foreigners -- three Nigerians and a South African player -- for the new seasons and three of them will feature in the Ncell Cup to begin from Thursday. Currently Sankata has enrolled 25 players in its squad.
ANFA President Ganesh Thapa who started his football career from Sankata said that the partnership between Sankata and CMG was a stepping stone for the development of football.
Sankata´s General Secretary Surendra Shikrakhar said that lack of playground had hampered the training and suggested the clubs and ANFA to work together for solving the problem. In his speech, president Thapa replied that ANFA was preparing few playgrounds at Malpokhari for team´s league preparation.
