According to RPP-N Deputy Spokesperson Mohan Shrestha, the central committee meeting that concluded in Birgunj on Friday took the decision to expel Bista from the party because of his involvement in activities against his own party."As per the recommendation of party's disciplinary committee, the executive committee decided to relieve Bista from all responsibilities, including party's general membership," said Shrestha.
"The disciplinary committee has found his involvement in anti-party activities. He was the first person to urge the party to join the government but he has been lobbying against the government now. He was found involved in groupism and against the broader unification within the Rastriya Prajatantra Party," Shrestha added.
However, Bista said that he is unaware of the party decision. "I have also heard the news just now. I am yet to receive formal notice from the party," said Bista on Friday evening.
"I am surprised to hear the decision since it came without fulfilling the procedures set by the party statute. I was never given a chance to furnish my explanation," said Bista, who shunned the Birgunj meeting and has been demanding the party to quit the government.
Earlier, RPP-N had expelled party spokesperson Bishnu Bhattarai, central committee leader Sagun Lawati and some others from the party.
Lawati, who has been running parallel central committee of RPP-N, said that his group is in favor of unification process with Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) led by Lokendra Bahadur Chand.
"We are in favor of unification process and we have been talking with the RPP for unification. I hope Bista will also join us," said Lawati.
