Provincial legislature to be named 'federal assembly'

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: A meeting of the Constitutional Committee on Wednesday approved the term ‘federal assembly’ as the name to be given to the provincial legislature in the new constitution.



CC Chairman Nilambar Acharya informed about the endorsement of the term after the meeting held in Singha Durbar this morning. [break]



The meeting also discussed other issues of constitution writing earlier resolved by the CC sub committee headed by UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.



The meeting, however, could not endorse issues related to mandatory military training to all citizens above 18 years of age and fixing ceilings on land and property ownerships.
