POKHARA, March 9: Preparations for the meeting of foreign ministers from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations are in full swing in Pokhara.

The meeting of foreign ministers, which is also billed as mini summit, is scheduled for March 14 to 17. The preparation had begun after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared the venue on the mid-February.
Shankar Koirala, the western regional administrator, informed that the authority has been cleaning the roads and planting saplings as part of the preparation of the meeting. He informed that roads in some places were being widened and maintenance works being carried out. "We have done a lot in the last one month period," Koirala claimed, adding that all stakeholders are busy in making Pokhara a more beautiful. Hoarding boards are being pulled down from places that fall between airport and hotel. The roads along the lakeside and Bindabasini temple are also being repaired.
