CHITWAN: Indian ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae has said that Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli’s India visit has repaired the Nepal-India relations which had soured for some time following promulgation of the new constitution.
Speaking at a function organized in Bharatpur to mark the International Women’s Day on Tuesday, Rae said, “The relations between the two countries had strained for some time. But Prime Minister Oli’s visit restored the bilateral relations to their previous state.”
He lauded the provisions in the new constitution that ensure equal rights to women. “Formulating good laws is important but their implementation is even more crucial,” said he.
Stating that education will be helpful in effectively implementing the laws, he said the Indian government will give top priority to school construction projects and scholarships in Nepal.
