Airport Construction Project Chief Om Sharma and Chief District Officer of Rupandehi District Bishnu Prasad Dhakal briefed Prime Minister Oli regarding construction task.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has been carrying out construction task with the financial aid of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
During the on-site-visit, PM Oli was oversaw the expansion of its runaway from 15,00 metres to 30,000 metres, construction of diversion in Dhagra River, Parking Wat (Apron), Terminal Building among other physical infrastructures.
On the occasion, PM Oli directed the bodies concerned to complete the construction of the Airport on time and maintain quality in the construction.
Around Rs 6.2 2 billion has been estimated to construct an airport with international standard. A Chinese North-West Civil Aviation Airport Construction Company has got responsibility for the construction of the Airport with international standard.
The construction operation gained a pace after late Prime Minister Sushil Koirala laid a foundations stone of the Gautam Buddha International Airport on January 15, 2015.
The Airport is expected to come into operation by 2018.
PM Oli said that there would be no shortage of construction materials for the construction of the airport.
He was accompanied by Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Poudel, Minister for Industry Som Prasad Pandey, Minister for Youth and Sports Satya Narayan Mandal and CIAA officials, among others. RSS
