KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has urged cooperation from leaders of the major political parties to give momentum to the recently stalled peace and constitution writing processes.

PM Bhattarai made the call during telephonic conversations Sunday morning with CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, senior UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and Nepali Cogress Vice-President Ram Chandra Paudel and NC General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula, the PM’s aide Bishwodip Pandy told Republica.

During the conversations, Bhattarai asked his fellow leaders not to make trivial matters an issue, according to Pandey. Of late, opposition leaders have shown stiff protest against the government decision to legalize land transactions carried out by Maoists´ ´people´s government´ during armed conflict.

The PM will also informally talk to participating leaders at today´s Constitutional Committee meeting, which is currently underway in Singha Durbar, on the issue, Pandey said.
