Over 300 children receive psychosocial counseling

RATNANAGAR (Chitwan), June 5: Youth Society Nepal Chitwan has provided psychosocial counseling to more than 300 children affected by the recent Gorkha earthquake.

As many children were found to have suffered psychosocial impact the counseling was provided to help them get back to their normal life, said the Society Chair Keshav Prasad Regmi. The society had reached its services to child clubs and schools.


The service continues and so far more than 300 children have already benefitted, Regmi added. Furthermore, the children were also given leaflets informing them about various aspects of an earthquake and ways to remain safe from it.

The counseling service has been completed in Shaktikhor, Bharatpur, Bahraghare, Devghat and is now focused on other areas of the district, the Society said. RSS
