KATHMANDU, Jan 31: Chairperson of National Human Rights Commission Anup Raj Sharma has complained that the recommendations that the commission has been making to the government have not been implemented.

Speaking at the eight anniversary function of FIAN Nepal here on Sunday, he said repeated requests made by the commission to have the recommendations enforced have not been addressed.

"The recommendation made for action against those found guilty in the Godar incident of Janakpur has also not been taken into account by the government", he said.

Stating that the right to food is the foundation of human rights, Sharma emphasized on the need to exert pressure on the political parties to ensure that the economic, social and cultural rights are guaranteed. RSS
