NEFIN gathering kicks off in capital

KATHMANDU, July 4: In a bid to forge a common understanding about the present political situation of the country, a two-day national gathering of the Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) has kicked off in the capital on Wednesday.



The gathering will also prepare future strategies to ensure a federal constitution based on ethnic identity in the country, Raj Kumar Lekhi, Chairman of NEFIN, informed. [break]



According to him, more than 1000 participants, including ethnic experts, activists, leaders affiliated with various political parties, ex-ethnic Constituent Assembly members and representatives from 56 different organizations of indigenous communities, are participating in the gathering.
