KATHAMNDU, April 2: Nepal Bar Association (NBA), the umbrella organization of the lawyers, has expressed serious concerns over the reported move of the government to form high courts through ordinance.

NBA General Secretary Sunil Kumar Pokharel issued a press release on Friday and urged the government to formulate necessary acts only through the discussion in the parliament.

"The move of bringing an ordinance bypassing the parliament will violate the principle of segregation of power," stated the press release. The NBA has also urged the government not to pursue any act overriding any state organs and putting the constitution and established principles at risk for the convenience or inconvenience of any individual or institution in the name of principle of necessity.
