The police said Chhetri, whose body was found on Saturday, was killed by his colleague Narayan Poudel. Chhetri´s body had injury marks on head, the area below his eyes and on forehead. The incident came to light after Poudel, who had accompanied Chhetri to the Janai Purnima mela at Dhorbaraha, returned from the festivities alone. Poudel, on Thursday, had told that he had left Chhetri at Dhorbaraha. However, during further investigation, Poudel admitted that he had killed Chhetri in an inebriated state.[break]
“While retuning to their office from the festivities, both were drunk. Poudel killed his own colleague somewhere along the way,” said the police. Poudel told the police that he had stoned Chhetri to death.
Chhetri, who hailed from Bajung-5, Parbat, was about to retire after 20 days.
