Ministers, Secys remove debris of Changunarayan temple

BHAKTAPUR, May 29: Ministers and Government Secretaries participated in the campaign to clean the remains of the buildings, houses and temples that were ravaged by April 25 earthquake and aftershocks at the Changunarayan temple premises, Bhaktapur, on the occasion of the Republic Day, Friday.Changunarayan is a World Heritage Site.

The ministers and the government secretaries have participated in the campaign as the government decided not to organise any formal programme to mark the Republic Day, this year.

Minister for Law, Justice, Constituent Assembly and Parliamentary Affairs Narahari Acharya, Minister for Youth and Sports Purushottam Paudel, Minister for Forest Mahesh Acharya, Minister for Foreign Affairs Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, Minister for Health Khagaraj Adhikari, Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office, Secretaries and leaders of different political parties and locals have participated the campaign.

Officials at the government offices, Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force and Scout troupes and locals in the districts participated and removed the remains at the temple premises.

Similarly, various other teams in the district have also removed the debris at the Bhaktapur Darbar Square, Taumadi, and other sites enlisted in the heritage site in the district. RSS
