Shyam Bahadur Chhetri, a wage laborer, killed his 21-year-old wife Rita by slitting her throat with a sharp weapon and committed suicide cutting his own throat, police said. [break]
The motive behind the move is not immediately known. An initial investigation, however, shows that a household dispute could have led the man to take such an extreme step.
In another incident, a motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a truck at Badachaur , Phedikhola-1 of Syangja district.
Chitra Bahadur KC, of Phedikhola died on the spot after the truck (Lu 1 Kha 2728) hit his motorcycle (Ga 2 Pa 5313), while he was trying to overtake the four-wheeler, informed police inspector Manoj Paudel.
His pillion rider Alina Gothar was critically injured in the mishap. Gothar is receiving treatment at Charak Hospital in Pokhara.
