Mai municipality begins online revenue collection

MANGALBARE, Dec 17: Ilam's Mai municipality has launched online initiative for revenue collection, which will come to effect from today onward.

MANGALBARE, Dec 17: Ilam's Mai municipality has launched online initiative for revenue collection, which will come to effect from today onward.



The new initiative has been brought into operation as part of its plan to improve tech-friendly operation of the municipality.

Deepak Thewe, mayor of Mai municipality, said the technology would obviously help the ongoing efforts for ensuring municipal service delivery fast and modern.


Necessary internet arrangement has been made for tech-savvy service delivery, he shared, adding computers and competent human resources are also in place to this effect.


Two-day training was already imparted to municipal employees to enable them to deliver service from municipality and wards using technology, he shared. Internet has been installed in remote wards so service delivery is expected to be effective and efficient in coming days.


Before this, Ilam, Deumai and Suryodaya municipalities of the district had brought the online system into operation for revenue collection
