By the end of November, LG will introduce refrigerator, washing machine, microwave oven and vacuum cleaner that can save up to 45 percent energy.[break]
"We are coming up with these products coinciding with the arrival of winter -- the peak season for sales of cooking and cleaning appliances," said Ankur Kumar Goyal, senior manager, business development, of CG Impex, the authorized distributors of LG home appliances for Nepal. "All these products are built with LG´s superior core technology that ensures energy efficiency never experienced before."
The first product in the offing is linear compressor refrigerator that saves up to 41 percent energy compared with conventional refrigerators. This fridge, available in side-by-side model, gives a 10-year warranty on its compressors, meaning 41-percent energy saving is guaranteed for at least a decade.
Another special feature of this fridge is that it has a small door built on the outside, where goods that are regularly used can be tucked. "This feature also helps save energy consumption," Goyal said.
Six motion inverter direct drive washing machine is another eco-friendly home appliance on offer from LG. This washing machine saves 45 percent energy compared to traditional washing machines.
"Since these machines use six wash motions of swing, rolling, stepping, scrubbing, tumbling and filtration, the laundry will as good as clothes washed with hands," Goyal said.
Next in the line-up of eco-friendly products is microwave oven with charcoal lighting heater technology, which guarantees 30 percent energy saving and saves up to 50 percent of time.
"The charcoal lighting heater technology preserves nutrition like vitamins and protects food from being exposed to fire, so food cooked in the microwave oven tastes as good as those cooked in gas stoves," Goyal said.
Last product in the list for the winter season is vacuum cleaner with ´Kompressor´ technology.
These vacuum cleaners do not guarantee energy saving but is eco-friendly as it filters 99.95 percent of the collected dust that is suctioned during the process of cleaning. "This is possible through motorized dust compressor system that comes with superior suction power," Goyal said.
