Landslide leaves family displaced

RUKUM, Sept 18: A Badi family has been displaced following a landslide in a remote village of Rukum district. The house of Krishna Badi in Bijeshwori VDC-4 collapsed in the landslide Monday night. Krishna´s family of seven has been forced to take shelter in a neighbor´s house from Tuesday.



 Nepal Red Cross Society, Rukum has provided some clothes and foods to the displaced family. Krishna had been eking out a living by making clay-pots. Meanwhile, classes have been disrupted indefinitely after a landslide destroyed a school building in Peugha VDC-7 of Rukum. The landslide has completely damaged at least three classrooms of Shubha Prabhat Lower Secondary School. According to Laxman Biswokarma, a teacher, the students have been asked to stay home as other class-rooms are also likely to give way.
