KATHMANDU, Dec 16: India has defeated Nepal in their second group match of the ACC U19 Asia Cup held at Colombo Cricket Ground on Friday.
Chasing the 173-run target set by Nepal, India reached the target losing 4 wickets, with 99 balls remaining .
Shubhman Gill topscored with 57 runs studded with 2 sixes and 4 fours off 64 balls, Himanshu Rana made 51 runs including six fours off 61 balls while Simarjeet Singh contributed 36 runs including 2 sixes and 1 four off 42 balls and remained not out.

In reply, Nepal's Pawan Sarraf claimed 3 wickets conceding 43 runs Sandeep Lamichhane took one wicket of India giving away 35 runs.
Earlier, Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal had made 172 runs losing nine wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Rohit Kumar Paudel made 68 runs studded with 2 sixes and 7 fours off 93 balls, Dipendra Singh Airee hit 34 runs including 4 fours off 62 balls while Aasif Sheikh contributed 18 runs including 1 six and 2 fours off 32 balls.
For India, Rahul Desraj Chahar claimed highest 5 wickets conceding 27 runs, restricting its opponent to paltry 172 runs.
Similarly, Himanshu Jaikanwar Rana, Ayush S Jamwal, Yash Sanjeevsingh Thakur and Kamlesh Lachham Nagarkoti grabbed 1 wicket each.
