The result has slightly improved this year as only 39 percent students had passed in the examinations for the same grade conducted last year. [break]
Of the total of 282,359 regular students, 114,019 passed the exam. “The OCE has cancelled the results of 289 students while results of another 14 students have been withheld,” said Aryal.
Some 51,525 exempted students of the total 158,689 made it through the exam this time around. HSEB had set up 925 exam centers for students from 3,338 higher secondary schools across the country.
Similarly, 925 superintendents and 1456 assistant superintendents were deployed for the exam. Likewise, 1,032 exam observers, 14,318 invigilators, 11,100 security personnel, 925 government employees and 1850 office assistants were deployed at the centers.
For the first time this year, HSEB had arranged two sets of questions to ensure fairness in the exam. HSEB meeting on Tuesday also decided to conduct supplementary exams for grade 11 from January 12, said Aryal.
