KATHMANDU, Dec 24: A government team from the Political Dialogue Committee, formed to foster an environment conducive to the upcoming elections, visited the central offices of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and the Janamat Party for inspections and discussions.
The delegation led by Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anil Kumar Sinha conducted the visits and held meetings on Wednesday. The team also included Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel and Prime Minister’s Chief Advisor Ajay Bhadra Khanal, among others.
Efforts being made to bring Janamat Party back to govt
At the RPP office, the delegation was received by party chair Rajendra Lingden, while Janamat Party Chair CK Raut and other senior leaders welcomed them at the Janamat headquarters.
Officials said the discussions focused on creating an election-friendly environment, parties’ preparedness, and the prevailing political scenario.
The government has recently begun the practice of visiting party offices to monitor the situation and engage in dialogue, citing the need to ensure a conducive atmosphere for elections. On Tuesday, the same team visited the central offices of major parties—the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, and the Nepali Communist Party—to assess the ground situation.
While the government described the initiative as “monitoring,” its stated aim is to encourage political parties to participate in the elections and build an atmosphere of trust.
