Health workers deputed to destroy mosquitoes

CHITWAN, Oct 11: Some 300 health workers have been deputed to destroy mosquitoes in Chitwan district to control dengue disease, according to the District Public Health Office, Chitwan.



A team of health workers have started to destroy the larva of mosquitoes visiting every house of the village. Epidemic of dengue which had spread in the district two years ago has not come completely under control.[break]



According to Vector Control at the Office, Chitwan, Ram Kumar KC, a three-day search and destroy of larva campaign has been launched at Ratnanagar Municipality and Bharatpur Municipality as an attempt to control dengue epidemic.



A total of 343 patients underwent check-up so far since mid-July where dengue disease was found on 32 patients in the district.
