Export of metal craft and woodcraft items, Nepali paper and its products including the indigenous Pashmina recorded a rise.
Nepal Handicrafts Federation´s Chairman Bikas Ratna Dhakhwa said that the export of metal and woodcraft items increased by 11.5 per cent while the products made of the Nepali paper rose by 47.2 per cent.
He said export of Pashmina increased by 42.1 per cent in the last fiscal year. Dhakhwa said that export of Nepali handicrafts to India increased by a whopping 271 per cent.
Similarly, export of readymade garments, silver jewelries and carpet increased remarkably in the last fiscal year, according to the Trade Promotion Center.
Likewise, ´Chyangra Pashmina´ has also got international recognition and has been registered in 41 different countries in the world.
Nepal Pashmina Industry Association said that registration process of Chyangra Pashmina has been initiated in Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa and UAE.
