Govt directed to organize Int’l Buddhist Conference

KATHMANDU, Jan 21: The International Relations and Labor Committee of Legislature-Parliament has directed the government to carry out necessary preparations to organize International Buddhist Conference on May 21.

The meeting of the committee on Thursday directed the government and Ministry of Culture to successfully organize the conference on Buddha Jayanti.


The committee also instructed to make the international committee at United Nations active for massive promotion to overcome confusions over Lumbini.

During the meeting, secretary at the ministry also the member secretary of Lumbini Development Fund informed the House panel on activities of the fund. The panel has asked the fund to furnish details of income and expenditure of past five years within 15 days.
