KATHMANDU, Nov 10: Kulman Ghising, who currently heads three key development-related ministries in the present government, is set to announce a new political party today.
Sources claimed that the ‘Gen Z Party,’ which was registered at the Election Commission (EC) a few days ago, will also be incorporated into the new party. According to a person close to Ghising, independent provincial assembly member Tara Prasad Joshi will also join the party.

Likewise, Sumana Shrestha and Sagar Dhakal are expected to join the new party. Representatives of Sudan Gurung, who has been presenting himself as a leader of the Gen Z movement, will also be part of the party.
Another person close to Ghising said that a new party will be registered at the EC on Monday. For this, an application will be submitted to the EC to change the name of the already registered ‘Ujyaalo Nepal Party.’ However, he added that the likelihood of registering an entirely new party remains higher.
According to sources, if the EC grants recognition to the party, an announcement gathering will be held in Kathmandu. The party’s election symbol is said to be a ‘burning bulb.’ The EC has given until November 16 to register a new party. With the deadline approaching, Ghising and those close to him have intensified their efforts.
“Initially, there was a higher chance that the Ujyaalo Nepal Party would be announced as the new party, but some members of Ghising’s team suggested choosing a different name,” the source said, adding, “Therefore, the possibility of naming it Janasewa Party has become stronger.”
