HUMLA, August 1: A woman died during childbirth in a rural Sarkegad of mountainous Humla district.

The unborn child was also dead. Nanarupa Tamata, 20, of Sayagaun village, who was admitted to local Sarkegad health post, died following complications during childbirth, said the health post chief, Debendra Bir Magiya.
Lack of equipments needed during delivery is to blame for the death of the mother and child, he said. Tamata was admitted to the health facility on Wednesday morning after she suffered labour pain.
