JANAKPURDHAM, Feb 22: Four Nepalis returning from the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India, died in a car accident in Uttar Pradesh on Friday night. The accident also left six other Nepalis seriously injured.
The vehicle collided with a tractor trolley on the Gorakhpur Link Road, in the Bansgaon Police Station area of Uttar Pradesh.
Three of the deceased are from Saptari, and one is from Sunsari. The deceased from Saptari has been identified as Lila Devi Chaudhary from Kanchanrup Municipality-7, Parshuram Chaudhary from Kanchanrup-7, and Harihar Devi Yadav from Kanchanrup-5, Pipra East.

Likewise, Samatoliya Devi Yadav from Kushaha Rural Municipality-1, Sunsari, also lost her life in the accident.
Saptari police spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jitendra Basnet said that Indian police reported the deaths and injuries of the Nepali nationals to the Nepal Police.
He stated that Upendra Chaudhary, a teacher, along with Jitu Yadav and others whose names are yet to be identified were injured in the accident. Two of the injured are from Udaypur. DSP Basnet reported that the Indian police informed them that the victims were in serious condition.
The injured are receiving treatment at a local hospital in Gorakhpur.
