TAPLEJUNG, April 16: A jeep accident in Faktanglung Rural Municipality-5, Taplejung, has claimed the life of the driver and left the co-driver seriously injured.
According to police, the jeep (Me 1 Cha 5193), en route from Lelep to Tapethok, lost control, veered away and plunged approximately 300 meters down a slope.

The driver, 25-year-old Saroj Shrestha of Fidim Municipality-3, Panchthar, died in the crash. He was pronounced dead by medical personnel shortly after being taken to the Tapethok Primary Health Post.
The co-driver, Saujan Shrestha, also from Municipality-3 of Fidim, sustained severe injuries to his back and has been referred to Taplejung Hospital for further treatment, police said.
