The tournament, with Rs 460,000 and two scooters in prizes, is the richest in Nepal. Altogether 10 teams will participate in the tournament. [break]
Along with defending champion Gyanubaba Higher Secondary School of Pokhara, teams from Nepal Police Club, Armed Police Force as well as two other schools from Pokhara--Fishtail Higher Secondary School and Tops Higher Secondary School will participate in the tournament.
The other participating teams are New Diamond Academy, Angel´s Heart, Bijeshori Gyan Mandir, Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center and Chandeshwori Youth Club.
The organizers are offering Rs 47,000 in travel allowance to the teams participating from outside the valley and Rs 8,000 to the teams within the valley. President of the club, Manbir Chhyantal, said that the club has provided six volleyballs for training to each of the 10 participating teams.
Among the ten teams, top seven will receive cash prize. The winner will bag a purse of Rs 220,000, which is Rs 17,000 more than last year. The runner-up will get Rs 110,000 and the third position holder will receive Rs 55,000. The teams that finish fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh will get Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
The organizers will also provide the best six players with Dish Home DTH service. The best player of the tournament will receive a TVS scooter.
The organizer will also award a scooter to the winner of Dhorpatan TVS Player of the Year. The Player of the Year will be chosen by a committee led by KB Rana based on a player´s performance in the past one year.
