After Taulihawa, Krishnanagar reports community transmission
KAPILVASTU, Aug 20: Kapilvastu has reported a total of 1,006 cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday afternoon. With this, Kapilvastu has become the district with the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Province 5.

Twenty four other people including 10 policemen from Krishnanagar Municipality were diagnosed with this viral infection on Thursday alone. “All the new cases are found to be community-level transmissions,” said Kumar Thapa, focal person at the District Health Office, Kapilvastu. Krishnanagar which shares its southern border with India has turned into a COVID-19 hotspot in recent days.
District headquarters Taulihawa earlier had also reported community level transmission of COVID-19.
