At a programme organized by the Nepali Congress Kalikot-Kathmandu Liaison Committee here Monday, he said Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai should pave the way for a political way out.
He demanded the formation of national consensus government with immediate resignation of the prime minister as election was not possible on November 22.
Leader Koirala claimed that the next government would be led by his party. He added that the NC was ready to announce its prime ministerial candidate if an atmosphere conducive for it was created.
In another note, leader Koirala said all parts of the country should be developed equally. Karnali region should be prioritized for development as it is very remote, he argued.
Other leaders including Jivan Bahadur Sahi, Dilli Raj Regmi, Gururaj Ghimire and Narayan Prasad Bhattarai pointed out the need of vigorous role of the Nepali Congress to resolve the present crisis.
