KATHMANDU, Jan 5: The CPN-UML has stepped up preparations for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5, with party committees across the country actively finalizing candidate recommendations.
Following directives from the party centre, district and constituency-level committees have begun forwarding names. While some areas have submitted a single consensus candidate, others have sent multiple aspirants, and in a few cases, all interested contenders for central-level review.
According to CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet, the party has so far unanimously recommended candidates in 24 constituencies. He said several other districts and constituencies have also reached consensus, while the selection process remains underway in others.
The party clarified that final endorsement of candidates will rest with the central leadership after evaluating recommendations from all regions.
