In the run-up to by-polls, EC issues code of conduct

KATHMANDU, Oct 24: In the run-up to the by-elections, the Election Commission (EC) issued a code of conduct on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, Oct 24: In the run-up to the by-elections, the Election Commission (EC) issued a code of conduct on Thursday.


The code will be effective from tomorrow, according to a press release issued by the election body on Thursday.

The EC issued the code of conduct in accordance with Clause 22 of the Election Commission Act, 2073.


According to that act, the federal government, provincial government and local bodies concerned stakeholders or persons should strictly follow the code of conduct.


The code aims to conduct the by-elections in a free, fair and transparent manner.
