PHUNGLING, Feb 22: Heavy snowfall lashed the Pathibhara (Mukumlung) area of Taplejung. The snowfall occurred last night in Pathibhara, which lies at an altitude of 3,794 meters, and other adjoining areas.
The Pathibhara area has received the heaviest snowfall of this year, after moderate snowfall for the first time last month, according to Pathibhara Area Development Committee member Rajendra Mahat. Snow has turned the mountains up to Kafle Pati white.
Pathibhara area sees snowfall
Despite the heavy snowfall, pilgrims who went to visit Pathibhara were not affected, said Prajin Hangbang, executive director of the committee. Since a fibre roof has been installed on the two-kilometre trekking route, pilgrims can reach Pathibhara Dham easily even in case of snowfall.
According to the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, 300 pilgrims will perform pooja at Pathibhara Dham today.
