Astronaut posts time-lapse video of lightning strikes from space (with video)

British ESA astronaut and test pilot Tim Peake tweeted this unbelievable time-lapse that shows how lightning storms look like from space.

The time-lapse is taken while flying from North Africa over Turkey towards Russia.

The astronaut is living and working onboard the International Space Station for six months.
