KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Tribhuvan Army Club’s B team, Nepal Police Club, APF and Central region recorded wins in the First CoAS Cup Men’s Open Volleyball Tournament at the court of Army Physical Training and Sports Center in Lagankhel, Lalitpur on Tuesday.

Army’s B team beat Western Region in straight sets of 25-18, 25-19, 25-12 to confirm its semifinal clash against Army’s A team to be played on Thursday.

Army Club’s coach Kapil Kishor Shrestha said that his side won the match as the spikers played attacking game confidently.

“Their spikers did not play openly. Similarly, we took the advantage of height as the opposition players’ height was not too good,” said Shrestha, who has been mentoring both the teams of the army club.

Meanwhile, Shrestha will not be in the court as a coach during the semifinal match between the two teams of Army as he has been training both the teams.

Hari Hajur Thapa is the skipper of A team and Raju Shrestha is the captain of B team.
Meanwhile, Police Club finished Group A winner by winning all three matches with Eastern region as its latest victim.  Police beat Eastern 25-14, 25-20, 25-20.

In the semifinal, Police will face the winner of the match between APF and Far-western region slated for Wednesday. Far-western has to beat APF in straight sets to secure its last four berth.

Similarly, APF beat Mid-western 25-12, 25-20, 25-18, while Eastern beat Far-western 25-18, 25-23, 25-22 in other matches of the day.
